How we got started
Lodestar was started by Brian Kessman in April of 2016. As founder and principal consultant, Brian offers 18 years of experience working with digital and creative agencies. After seeing and solving the same growth and operational issues many times at different agencies, and observing how agencies today are challenged with meeting their client’s increasing digital needs, he founded Lodestar Digital.
Brian cut his teeth managing large-scale digital and creative projects for brands such as: Lenovo, Nationwide Insurance, Travelocity, Burger King, California Pizza Kitchen, Cars.com, HP, HBO, NBC, USA Networks, UFC, San Diego Zoo, and a multitude of colleges and universities. However, for the past 10 years, his work has been focused on helping agencies design new services and scale their project operations.
Aside from consulting under Lodestar, Brian is the Director of Product Management for inMotionNow’s flagship product, inMotion, a workflow management software suite for marketing and creative teams. Brian provides the product vision, guides the feature roadmap, and manages the product’s design and development teams.
Brian is also an FWA jury member. FWA is where you go to experience cutting-edge innovation in digital design and development. It’s a space that encourages the digital industry to push the boundaries of technology, to show people what is possible. As a jury member, Brian is part of an international team of over 200 judges who vote daily on submitted projects that include: web and mobile sites and apps, physical installations, and VR projects (web based and non-web based) — any creative work that pushes the boundaries.
